We’ve been a big fan of LED light therapy for a while between our LED face masks and full body red light therapy, we thought we were covered. But LightStim LED light therapy is out here changing the game when it comes to what we call LED light therapy, and we’ve gotta talk about it.
Because the cool thing about LED therapy is that it can do so many good things for your body. Like reducing wrinkles, treating acne, repairing muscle tissue, and more. But, not all LED therapy devices work the same. You definitely don’t want to be stuck with a device that’s not pulling its weight.
So today, we’re going to chat about a light stimulation device that DOES pull its weight: LightStim.
Recently, LightStim Founder, Steve Marchese, came on the show with Lauryn’s long-time esthetician, Stacie Christie. We talked all about light stimulation treatments—which, as Steve says, is a better name than LED light therapy. You can learn why here:
We’re going to give you the skinny on what light stimulation treatments are, if they work, & what they can do. Plus, is LightStim the best treatment out there? Keep reading to find out!

What is LightStim & Does It Work?
LightStim is a light stimulation device that uses LightStim MultiWave® Patented Technology to reduce the prevalence of wrinkles, manage pain, and smooth skin. It’s known for supporting a radiant and youthful healthy glow in customers of all skin types.
Steve explains exactly how Lightstim works here. You’ve gotta hear about how they tested different colors for different effects. Amber and red light are power players when it comes to LED light stimulation!
Basically, the device uses LEDs, which stands for light-emitting diodes. LightStim has LED lights that simultaneously emit multiple wavelengths or colors of light energy. These wavelengths of light work with the mitochondria in your body.
The mitochondria absorbs the light energy and converts it into ATP, or adenosine triphosphate. Steve calls this “the gasoline that runs our cells.” He told us on the show that starting at age 20, we produce 8-10% less of this compound every decade.
ATP acts as an energy source for skin cells. This allows them to repair muscles and cell damage, reduce fine lines, and produce collagen.
LightStim was launched in 2002 to provide home care and professional grade LED light stimulation devices.

What Does LightStim Do?
Reduce redness.
LightStim can dramatically improve skin tones and textures. This is because of the red LED light, which is known for its anti-inflammatory properties.
Decrease the prevalence of fine lines and wrinkles.
If you’re looking for anti-aging treatments, LightStim is one of the most effective treatments for reducing fine lines. This is because the light emitting diodes stimulate the cells that produce collagen and elastin, making your skin firmer.
Support product absorption.
It’s a great idea to use a serum like Lauryn’s De-Puffing Face Oil before using the LightStim device. The gentle warmth the device emits supports deeper product absorption.
Relieve pain.
LightStim reduces pain by increasing circulation and reducing inflammation. This can make symptoms of pain less severe.
Support cell repair.
LightStim supports cell repair through its mechanism of action. The lights interact with the mitochondria. The mitochondria then converts the light energy to cell energy, or ATP, which gives the cells the boost they need to repair.

Does LightStim Work?
Yes–we love how LightStim smooths and plumps our skin. Plus, the product absorption when you use LightStim is top tier!
LightStim is a step above other LED treatment devices because of its LightStim MultiWave® Patented Technology. This UV-free technology allows multiple wavelengths of light to be emitted at the same time, making it more effective than other brands.
Is LightStim FDA Approved?
LightStim has been cleared by the FDA to treat wrinkles on the entire face!
How To Use LightStim
Turn on the wrinkle setting.
The first step is to turn the device on–pretty self-explanatory.
Determine your target areas.
What are you trying to plump, smooth, or reduce? Knowing what your goal is will help you determine where to place the device.
Press the device to your skin in a target area.
This device must touch your skin to be as effective as it can be.
Once you’ve pressed the device to your skin, wait until you hear the pre-programmed beep at 3 minutes.
Move the device to another target area.
Once you’ve targeted one area for 3 minutes, you can move on to the next.
Repeat until you’ve targeted all desired areas.
Once you’re done treating your target areas, you can turn the device off.
How to Clean LightStim
Cleaning your LightStim is super simple!
All you’ve got to do is gently wipe the tops of the LED bulbs with alcohol or disinfecting wipes.
