This book review will tell you all about the insights we gained from Mel’s new book. Plus, you’ll get a sneak peek at her incredible interview!

What Is The Book Let Them About?
This book was written to share a method that reduces the feeling of being overwhelmed, frustrated, or stressed in your day-to-day life. But, it’s honestly so much bigger than that. This one life-changing tool can bring so many revelations to the forefront.
But, before we get into that, let’s chat about the author: Mel Robbins. Mel Robbins is a multi-hyphenate professional. She’s known best for her work as a bestselling author, motivational speaker, and host of The Mel Robbins podcast.
Her most recent book, The Let Them Theory, is only one of her incredible books on shifting your mindset. She is a world-renowned expert in behavioral change. Reading one of her books can literally change your life! Let’s talk about how The Let Them Theory changed ours.

What Are The Key Takeaways of The Let Them Book By Mel Robbins?
You can’t control anyone else.
Mel taught us about how everyone in the world is hardwired to seek control. But, there are some things you simply can’t control like other people.
Trying to exercise control over people is one of the key areas where the “let them” tool works best. But how? Mel explains it all on the show and in her book. You’ll have to check them out to find out how the theory works!
You can control how you react to things that happen around you.
If someone at work has MAJORLY screwed up in a way that affects you, you can either explode or respond calmly.
Mel taught us not to explode. Exploding creates a massive amount of stressful energy in your body and your head. That’s a difficult energy to get rid of! Plus, when you explode, you’re shutting off the part of your brain that can solve the problem.
Instead, Mel taught us to respond calmly with the problem-solving part of our brain. That response is within our control. But, it doesn’t always feel like it’s within our control. Mel’s theory is a powerful tool that can bring that control back to us! You can learn more about how to use it here.
Stop wasting time and energy.
At the end of the day, getting worked up over the small stuff only ruins YOUR day. It doesn’t change anything about the situation you’re worked up over.
We only get so much time and energy every day. If you spend all your focus on how badly people are driving or how frustrated you are with a coworker, you’re only accomplishing two things.
1) You’re feeding the frustration. The situation may be over, but you’ve poured so much energy into it, it feels like it’s still happening.
2) You’re wasting time that could be spent bettering yourself and your life.
There is freedom in letting things go.
When you manage not to sweat the small stuff, your life gets better. Your energy isn’t wrapped up in other people’s thoughts and feelings anymore. YOU get to decide where that energy goes!
Make choices from your values NOT out of guilt.
The theory applies to a lot of areas in our life not just small, frustrating situations. When you start to “let them” instead of micromanaging the feelings of the people around you, people may be disappointed. Let them!
It’s easy to let other people’s disappointment affect what we do. But, there’s a problem with making decisions based on not disappointing people. You’re making those decisions out of guilt, rather than your own values.
When you let others have the feelings they’re going to have, you become free to make your own decisions based on your own feelings and values. You’ll be making moves from a place of true alignment which is a game changer for mental health.
