Who is Kenzie Burke? Meet the Founder of BRÛLÉ

Kenzie Burke

The clothing industry has gotten out of control. Fast fashion overproduces low-quality clothes that are in style for a moment—and out the next. As a result, our closets are stuffed with cheap pieces we barely even wear. Even secondhand stores are overrun, and our textile waste ends up in landfills or exported overseas, polluting other countries with last season’s trends.

As consumers become more aware of the realities of this cycle, more and more people are embracing slow fashion. The luxury-quality clothing that’s timeless, sustainably made, and built to last.  It prioritizes intention and minimalism, encouraging you not to buy “more,” but to buy better. It’s the step away from mindless consumerism we all need. There are even a few brave industry leaders who are paving the way for a better fashion future.

Kenzie Burke, founder of the luxury slow-fashion brand BRÛLÉ, is one of those entrepreneurs who embrace ethical manufacturing, mindful design, and quality over quantity. To learn more about her philosophy and groundbreaking brand, Lauryn and Michael invited her on the Him & Her Show again. (They interviewed her early in her career about her first business!)

You can listen to the full Kenzie Burke podcast with TSC below, but we’ll break down the key details—stitch by stitch.

Who is Kenzie Burke? Meet the Founder of BRÛLÉ

Kenzie Burke is the creative director and founder of BRÛLÉ. Her business is based in Los Angeles, where all the designing and manufacturing happens. Prior to jumping into the fashion scene, Kenzie was highly successful in the wellness industry.

Here’s how it all went down:

What Happened to Kenzie Burke?

Founded The 21 Day Reset Program and App

Back in 2016, Kenzie was working as a babysitter while navigating her own wellness journey. She had become deeply immersed in clean eating, holistic health, and plant-based nutrition—and the changes she experienced were truly life-changing. Wanting to share what worked for her, Kenzie wrote everything down. From there, she turned her story, her philosophy, and her methods into a simple digital download.

That PDF quickly went viral, earning Kenzie over half a million dollars in just two months. And, ultimately, it also catapulted her into the wellness spotlight. What started as a single document evolved into The 21 Day Reset, a full-scale digital wellness brand complete with a subscription-based app. Almost overnight, Kenzie had built a massively influential platform.

Produced Content Around the Wellness Brand

Kenzie’s online platform was massive, and people were hungry for more content like her groundbreaking PDF. Since Kenzie is naturally creative and passionate about inspiring others to make healthy changes, the founder curated a whole library of content. She had online courses, downloadable recipes, education resources, and a wellness podcast.

Developed Biodynamic Coffee and Cacao Nibs

As part of her The 21 Day Reset brand, Kenzie Burke launched two products: Biodynamic Coffee and Cacao Nibs. These products were sourced and marketed mindfully, emphasizing the importance of sustainable agriculture. They were also delicious, high-quality products her audience loved!

Went Bankrupt and Reinvented Herself

After the rapid success of The 21 Day Reset, she expanded too fast. She built an expensive app, launched multiple projects, and took on financial weight she couldn’t sustain—especially after intense online backlash. Through Joe Dispenza’s guided meditations and a lot of soul-searching, she made her next move.

Kenzie Burke filed for bankruptcy—but it’s not a sad conclusion. She now describes it as one of her wiser decisions! In her episode with TSC, Kenzie said bankruptcy allowed her to release a heavy burden, reset financially and emotionally, and rebuild with clarity, intention, and stronger boundaries.

Started the Slow Luxury Fashion Brand BRÛLÉ

Rising from the ashes like a phoenix, Kenzie pivoted into fashion—a quiet passion she had carried for years. In 2022, she launched BRÛLÉ, a brand rooted in sustainability, mindfulness, and ethical business practices. Unlike fast fashion, BRÛLÉ focuses on timeless, high-quality, small-batch clothing drops. She designs them for people to wear, love, and keep for years.

How Did Kenzie Burke Start BRÛLÉ?

Kenzie has always been creative and entrepreneurial.

Long before BRÛLÉ, Kenzie loved to create and worked with celebrity stylist Dani Michelle before starting her own business. This love for fashion stayed with her even while in the wellness scene.

She pivoted from wellness to fashion.

After years in the wellness space, Kenzie realized she wanted to build something more aligned with her long-term vision and creative identity. Fashion was an obvious choice because it allowed her to create and make a positive impact.

She built BRÛLÉ around her personal style philosophy.

BRÛLÉ reflects the way Kenzie actually dresses: minimal, timeless, and effortless with a strong point of view. Each piece is designed to be worn repeatedly and styled countless ways. So, in other words, they’re not worn for a season and then tossed in the donate bin. The brand is all about restraint over excess and individuality over trends.

The brand prioritizes quality over quantity.

Instead of mass production, BRÛLÉ releases small-batch drops designed, manufactured, and distributed from a small facility in Los Angeles. This approach reduces waste and supports ethical labor while ensuring each piece meets Kenzie’s high standard!

Kenzie leads the business with strong values every day.

Kenzie remains deeply hands-on, overseeing everything from design and production to storytelling and brand direction. Her values shape every decision she makes. And wearing BRÛLÉ isn’t just a trendy fashion choice, it’s a statement about rejecting fast fashion and consumerism.
